Matilda International Hospital extends primary care services in Caine Road, Mid-Levels
Matilda International Hospital is now serving patients at its newest clinic location at 116 Caine Road, Mid-levels. Starting from April 20, 2017, this primary care clinic will open Mondays to Saturdays, and offers GP consultation, blood tests, and vaccination services. GP consultation fee is $380 (opening offer is $320 until June 1, 2017) plus medication fees. The Matilda Clinic – Caine Road is fully supported by the hospital’s network of specialists and inpatient facilities to ensure continuity of care.
“There was a strong pull from our patients to extend our personalised care within the community and the clinic is part of a new model of ‘family care services’ convenient to where they live. The district has a mix of young and mature residents, all with a strong commitment to their health and wellness and our approach to individualised healthcare is ideally suited to support them” said Linda Burgoyne, CEO of the Matilda International Hospital.
In Hong Kong, over 70% of primary care is delivered by medical practitioners in private practice. The Hong Kong Central and Western District recorded 246,600 residents in 2015, according to the statistics released by the Census and Statistics Department.
Helping patients to Make an Informed DecisionWith the aim of providing patient-centric, comprehensive, and holistic care, the Hospital will hold a primary care conference titled “Care Integration –A Vision to the Future” in the beautiful settings of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum at 2- 8pm on 6 May 2017.
Dr Hans Schrader, Executive Medical Director of the Matilda International Hospital added, “We trust that primary care must be based on the principle of preventive, personal, predictive and participative medicine. Primary care physicians must be able to continuously acquire new knowledge and, at the same time, take the lead to coach patients to get access to evidence based and meaningful resources such as online expert knowledge and access to specialist services.”
The conference will bring together specialists and family physicians to enhance knowledge sharing and strive toward seamless integrated care.
