Admission procedures

Ask your doctor to book

Only a doctor can book admission to Matilda. Be sure your doctor has made a booking before you check-in.

Before admission for a scheduled procedure or surgery you are reminded to:

  • Follow your doctor’s instructions on eating, drinking and medication
  • Check the hospital package costs here
  • Ask doctors about their fees
  • Choose accommodation (view rooms here)
  • Check our payment policy
  • Take a bath or shower at home before you arrive
  • Check-in online here

Bring your Hong Kong Identity Card or passport

Personal ID is a legal requirement before any medical treatment can be administered.

Do not bring valuable items

You are strongly advised not to bring items of value into the hospital. Bedside lockers are available, however Matilda International Hospital will not accept responsibility for valuable items.

Maternity admission

In addition to the above, mothers-to-be should bring:

  • Your own night clothes (at least 3 changes)
  • Old/disposable underwear
  • Socks
  • Nursing bras
  • Moisturiser for lips and/or face mist spray
  • Comfortable clothes and shoes to wear home
  • Anything your partner may need if they are staying with you
  • Top up formula (if you wish to supplement baby's diet) 
  • Clothes, wraps, and a travel-safe carrier to take baby home

When you arrive at the hospital

  • Present your valid HKID card or passport, or your child's birth certificate (for paediatric patients)
  • The father's HKID or passport is also required for maternity care 
  • Pay your deposit or present your Letter of Guarantee (see payment policies)

  • Phone with free local calls. IDD calls charged to bill

Your accommodation

All rooms include en-suite amenities, Now TV and telephones. Some have refrigerators.

One guest may stay in private rooms at no extra charge. Guest meals will be charged individually.
