To administer a dose :

  1. Wash your hands well before applying eye ointment.
  2. Tilt your head backwards and look upwards.

  3. Pull the lower eyelid downwards to form a pocket.

  4. Apply 1cm (about 1/2 inch) of eye ointment into the pocket. Do not let the tip of the tube touch against your eye or eyelid to avoid contamination of the tube.
  5. Close your eyes and blink several times to spread the ointment evenly.
  6. Wipe away any excess ointment around the eye with a clean tissue.

  7. Repeat steps 3-6 in the other eye if both eyes are affected.
  8. Tighten the cap after use to prevent contamination.

Notes:

  • For contact lenses user, remove contact lenses before applying eye ointment.
  • The ointment may blur your vision temporarily and therefore you should not drive or operate machinery until your vision becomes clear again.
  • If you are using more than one eye drop or eye ointment, they should be applied 5 to 10 minutes apart.
  • Do not share your eye ointment with anyone else to avoid transmission of bacteria and delay in treatment.

Storage:

  • Store at room temperature unless otherwise suggested on the dispensing label.
  • Discard any unused eye ointment one month after opening.
