X-Ray
An X-ray examination can quickly and effectively evaluate internal parts of the body, such as bones and lungs. This non-invasive imaging technique is essential for diagnosing fractures, infections, and lung conditions. Our advanced X-ray equipment ensures high-resolution images that aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Key Features
Rapid results, non-invasive, suitable for various conditions.
Preparation
No special preparation is needed; however, patients may need to remove specific clothing or jewellery.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses magnetic fields and radio waves to provide detailed images of the body's internal structures. It is beneficial for imaging soft tissues, including the brain, spinal cord, and muscles, offering critical insights for diagnosing neurological, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular conditions.
Key Features
Detailed imaging without radiation, excellent for soft tissue evaluation.
Preparation
Patients may need to fast for a few hours before the procedure; all metal objects should be removed.
CT or (CAT) Scans
Computed Tomography (CT) scans combine X-ray images taken from different angles to create cross-sectional views of the body. Our CT scanner enables high-definition 3D or multiplanar reconstructions. CT scans are invaluable for detecting tumours, internal bleeding, and other complex conditions, providing a comprehensive view that supports precise medical interventions.
Key Features
Comprehensive imaging, quick results, applicable for complex diagnoses.
Preparation
Some scans may require fasting or use of a contrast solution.
Digital Mammography
Mammography uses a low-dose x-ray system to examine breast tissue for any signs of cancer or abnormalities . It plays a central part in the early detection of breast cancers, which can reduce mortality.
A female technician administers the simple procedure. We use an advanced, high-definition, full-field digital mammography system that enables a precise screening process.
Key Features
Include enhanced image quality, reduced radiation exposure, and the ability to manipulate images for better evaluation.
Preparation
Patients are advised to avoid using deodorants, perfumes, or lotions on the examination day, as these can interfere with the imaging.
Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is a non-invasive ultrasound test that creates detailed images of the heart's structure and function. This test uses high-frequency sound waves to produce live images, allowing doctors to assess heart valves and the degree of heart muscle contraction.
This scan can reveal the size and shape of the heart, its pumping capacity, blood flow pattern, and the location and extent of any damage to heart tissues.
Key Features
Real-time imaging, non-invasive, provides comprehensive information about heart function.
Preparation
No special preparation is generally required. However, in some cases, patients may be asked to avoid eating or drinking for a few hours before the test.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce live images of internal organs, muscles and tendons. It shows the body's internal organs' movement, size and structure.
Ultrasound has many clinical applications. Our well-equipped specialist team provides a broad range of ultrasound examinations and associated services, including pregnancy, diagnostics and guide procedures.
Key Features
Safe for all patients, with real-time imaging and no radiation exposure.
Preparation
Depending on the type of ultrasound, patients may be required to fast or maintain a full bladder.
DEXA Bone Densitometry Scan
The DEXA bone densitometry scan is often performed on the lower spine and hips. It assesses bone mineral density through a simple, quick, and noninvasive procedure. This advanced imaging technique is essential for diagnosing osteoporosis and assessing fracture risk by determining bone strength.
Key Features
Highly accurate measurement of bone density, quick and painless procedure, low radiation exposure.
Preparation
Patients should avoid taking calcium supplements for at least 24 hours before the exam. They should wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal zippers or buttons.
