There is no refund on packages for early discharge, and any unused items in the package will not be discounted or refunded.

Emergency surgery will take priority over elective surgery. Therefore, we cannot guarantee exact operating time.
For procedures that are not packaged, we will be happy to provide an estimate, please send your request to our Patient Service Centre at psc@matilda.org.

Additional Notes on Maternity Packages
The maternity package takes effect on the day your baby is born. If you are admitted for a normal vaginal delivery, the use of the delivery suite the night before your baby's birth is included at no extra charge. However, using a separate patient room will incur additional fees.
For those admitted for an induction of labour, a specific package rate applies, which includes accommodation costs. For multiple pregnancies, an additional 35% of the package price is charged for each extra baby.
Additional fees will apply if the mother or baby requires special monitoring, treatment, medications, the use of equipment, tests, or nursing procedures.
Post-operative antibiotics are not included, which allows the doctor to choose the most appropriate antibiotic.
Any extra emergency services or surgeries beyond an emergency caesarean section, as well as additional laboratory tests, cross-match procedures, and treatments and drugs for complications or pre-existing conditions, will incur additional charges.
02 Total Care Packages
These packages include both the hospital’s and doctor’s fees, allowing better cost management for your hospital stay. The packages include nursing care, room (meals included for overnight packages ), and treatment normally associated with the procedure, as stated within the package.
You can find a list of available total care packages here.
These are for designated specialists only. If you wish to enrol in one of these packages, please contact the Patient Service Centre at (852) 2537 7407 or psc.referral@matilda.org.
Doctors’ Fees
All doctors are private practitioners practising independently of the hospital and its administration. Doctors’ fees may vary from one doctor to another, and they usually charge according to your room category. This pricing structure is common in Hong Kong and does not affect the level of care provided to you. It is in your best interest to discuss the expected charges with your doctors beforehand. The hospital only collects doctors’ fees on their behalf.
Room Categories and Their Respective Charges
Room choices include VIP Rooms, Private Rooms, Twin Rooms, and Standard Rooms, subject to availability.
A private room refers to any category of room with single occupancy. Rooms are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis (or for Maternity patients, first-delivered-first-served basis). If the preferred type of room is unavailable at the time of admission, you will be offered other room options.
- All ancillary charges (e.g., drugs and consumables, laboratory tests, X-rays, procedures, etc.), and doctors’ fees, vary according to the room category. Patient meals are included in overnight packaged procedures. For other procedures, meals will be charged according to ordered food items.
- Once admitted for a non-packaged procedure, 48 hours notice is required if you wish to change your room category.
- Isolation rooms are allocated on written doctor instructions for clinical indications or if required by the hospital’s infection control policy. This will result in additional accommodation charges or medical fees.
- One lodger may stay with paediatric patients in all types of rooms without additional charge. For adult patients, lodging is only available in private rooms. All meals for lodgers will be charged according to the items ordered.
- The full-day rate is charged for the day of admission. There is no charge for the day of departure if check-out is before 11:30am. After 11:30am, there will be an additional charge. 48 hours notice is required to change room category following non-packaged surgery.
- For shared rooms, the window-side bed, where applicable, is available on a first-come-first-served basis (for maternity patients on a first-delivered-first-served basis).
- While we make every effort to provide you with the room category you requested, the nature of maternity services means it cannot be guaranteed. Should your booked room category not be available, you may choose a different available room. The published room category rate will apply.
Important Payment and Discharge Information
A deposit is required upon admission: a minimum of HK$20,000 or 50% of the estimated total charges, whichever is higher. The hospital reserves the right to take a 100% deposit in advance of admission. If you are entitled to any special rates, you must inform us on admission to avoid billing errors.
If your stay is covered by insurance with a Guarantee of Payment (GOP), you should ensure the GOP is in place for your admission.
Emergency surgery will take priority over elective surgery. Therefore, we cannot guarantee an exact operating time.
If you check out before 11:30 a.m., there is no charge for the day of departure. After 11:30 a.m., there will be an additional charge.
Interim bills will be issued every 5 days and should be settled within 2 days of the bill issuance. All accounts must be settled before discharge or payment arrangement guaranteed by insurance companies. The hospital accepts payment by EPS, credit card (Visa Card, Master Card, American Express, China Union Pay), Alipay or cash in Hong Kong dollars.
If your doctor places a late pharmacy order at the end of your stay, this may lead to a delay in billing for discharge.
Please inform the nurse at least two hours before your planned discharge to ensure the bill is complete and prevent billing delays. If you are discharged outside of office hours, you will be required to sign a blank credit card voucher. Our staff will contact you with the amount before charging the card. Detailed itemised hospital charges are available at the Client Account Department. To receive a copy, please send a request to ipcash@matilda.org.
If you require a copy of your medical notes, a fee will be charged, and five working days from the day payment is received are required to process it.
Whilst price changes are not expected, amendments may be made without prior notice, therefore, it is advisable to check the package price and contents before admission.
