The standard discharge time is 11:30 am, with no charge if checked out before this time; additional charges may apply for later departures. Please settle your account before leaving, with payment options including EPS, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, China UnionPay), or cash in Hong Kong dollars. Ensure any insurance arrangements are confirmed. Our staff will review your discharge plan and answer any questions to help you feel prepared.
As part of the discharge process, leaving patient feedback is heavily recommended for improving our services and helping future patients, as well as any future visits you may have.

Patients undergoing day case procedures under anaesthetic should be accompanied home by a friend or family member. Driving is not advised.

They always checked if I needed any assistance when they saw me walking in the corridor, especially Sandy who encouraged me to get out of bed and walk. Heidi is experienced and attentive. “I had a very positive first-time birth experience at Matilda, thanks to the experienced midwives and doctors. Special thanks go out to Winnie, my midwife, and Patrick, my Obgyn, for their professional support. I chose Matilda because of the support they provide for moms who wish to breastfeed. I understand that other private hospitals do not offer the same level of support, as the nursery is on a separate floor, which makes it difficult for moms to feed on demand after birth. Also, I was very happy with the walking epidural I had during my birth, which enabled me to retain my mobility during labor while alleviating my pain.”

“Most of the caretakers are super friendly and caring, making sure I had my medicine on time and teaching me how to breastfeed my baby. Both the midwives and the doctor provide adequate and continuous support for us as we are first-time parents.”
“Overall, I am very pleased with the medical team's professionalism and friendly demeanor. I would also like to specially mention the midwives Kat, Ashley, Jenny, and HCA Sheila. They were all very lovely and knowledgeable. They always updated me on time when I had any questions and were happy to facilitate anything I needed. All of them were very supportive and helpful in starting my breastfeeding journey and provided valuable information to continue the journey. They were all very professional and approachable. Jenny especially helped to facilitate our discharge as my newborn needed to have acceptable levels of jaundice before we could leave. She liaised with Dr. Euan and expedited our care so that we could be discharged the next day. For that, I am very thankful. They made my stay comfortable.”
